We will have Montgomery County SSL forms at the event.
If you attend school in another county please bring your own form.

Students/Volunteers Need To Know
Student Volunteer Permission Form 2014

We are looking for16-20 people to assist w/Traffic Control – (must be at least 14 years old).
Those under 16 will require Parental permission. Please download the permission form above.

PLEASE NOTE: If you’re under 16 & don’t have a permission form you will not be eligible to participate.

We will also have the Volunteer Forms pre-filled out at the Event so; you will not need to worry about that
(Frederick Schools may need to provide their own form).


4:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Help with set up.
1st shift 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
We need volunteers from 9am-11am. In particular, teens ages 16-18 yrs. old for directing traffic
and 12-14 yrs. olds as Flag Wavers.
2nd shift 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
All age Volunteers for this shift.
3rd shift 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm
All age Volunteers for this shift.
3rd shift 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Older Teens 16 -18 yrs. old – Fire Line/Event Clean up


SSL Hours Student volunteers may work as many hours as they wish, but we are only permitted to give credit for 8 hours per day worked
Personal Property Safety The Volunteer area WILL NOT be secure.
Volunteers should not plan to leave valuables there.
We will not guarantee their safety.
Footwear ALL Volunteers to wear closed toe shoes at ALL TIMES
(no Sandals or Flip Flops)
Optional Headwear Although not required we would strongly recommend that volunteers bring a Hat. It could be a very hot Sunny day..

ADULT VOLUNTEERS ALSO NEEDED! No experience is necessary! If you would like to be a “part of a great Germantown tradition”, we need help with the following areas:

* Contact corporations who may wish to sponsor the event
* Contact crafters and businesses who may wish to have a booth at the event
* Write and/or distribute press releases
* Coordinate/manage the Entertainment Stages
* Recruit and organize volunteers for the day of the event
* Distribute posters/flyers to businesses (September effort needed)
* Recruit and organize the walk-up Volunteers on the day of the event (July-Sept effort needed)
